Tea

Tea is produced in over 30 countries worldwide. China (43%) is the biggest producer in the world, followed by India (23%) and Kenya (9%).

The most common teas produced are black tea and green tea with white tea, yellow tea, oolong tea, and Pu’erh tea also available. 

SIPEF produces black cut, tear, curl (CTC) tea.

In 2021, SIPEF agreed to sell PT Melania — its Indonesia subsidiary, comprising SIPEF's entire tea operations in Java — to Shamrock Group.
