Plantations J. Eglin is a major employer in the regions where it operates in Côte d’Ivoire. In 2025, the company employed 2 448 people. At its production sites, employees are provided with free accommodation, electricity, and drinking water from wells. All employees and their families also benefit from medical coverage, with company-funded private health insurance covering 80% of healthcare costs, complemented by social security through the national system. Beyond its direct workforce, Plantations J. Eglin invests in local communities, including contributing to education by building and equipping primary and nursery schools.
In 2025, SIPEF built and opened a new primary school at the Azaguié plantation through the Fairtrade programme, expanding access to education for local children. The school is staffed by two government- assigned teachers and became fully operational in October, welcoming its first cohort of students. At the Motobé plantation, a day care centre established in 2024 continues to provide reliable, on-site childcare to support employees and their families. SIPEF will continue to assess demand and opportunities for expansion to further strengthen family support across its operations.
